Mobilizing Knowledge on Marginality and Epistemic Oppression
Welcome to the landing page for the Racism and Hidden Figures Workshop on Marginality and Epistemic Oppression in the Canadian Academy. This workshop takes place at the University of Calgary on 2 and 3 November 2023. The University of Calgary is sited on the traditional territories of the peoples of Treaty 7, which include the Blackfoot Confederacy (comprised of the Siksika, the Piikani, and the Kainai First Nations), the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda (including Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Goodstoney First Nations). The City of Calgary is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta Region 3.
